Enter the food blogger photo exhibition, sponsored by SBS Food

Great news. SBS Food has come onboard to sponsor/partner a one week photo exhibition of food and drink bloggers’ photos to kick off on Sunday March 21.

SBS joins our other sponsors The Essential Ingredient, which is providing the daytime venue and coffee roaster, cafe, cum restaurant St Ali, which is providing food, the evening meal (by chef Ben Cooper), and the space for the exhibition and kick-off cocktail party.

Even cooler are our drinks partners. We will have cocktails provided by Der Raum (with perhaps some liquid nitrogen floating around), wine by Prentice Wine, beer by the Red Hill Brewery and soft drinks and water by Daylesford and Hepburn Springs Mineral Springs Co.

This is very cool as it will help spread the word about food blogs to the broader community.

Enter your pictures

To enter simply submit your pictures to the Eat.Drink.Blog.2010 Flickr group and our judges (who are being sorted in the next few days)

DEADLINE: Midnight Sunday March 7 2010

The Guidelines and small print

1. Submissions are open to Australian and New Zealand food and drink blogs only.

2. Try and limit your submissions to half a dozen or less.

3. Each picture will be framed and the entrant will received the framed copy. At some point we will need to get hold of a high resolution copy of the pic for printing.

4. The pictures should be original works from 2009/2010, have been blogged and the copyright owned by the entrant.

5. In return for SBS Food’s support, I’ve said they can include each of the pictures in the exhibition in an online slideshow which will include a blogger profile on the SBS Food website. By entering you will be agreeing to this.

6. That’s about it. All entrants will be invited to the cocktail launch.

7. A judge cannot vote on their own work but we’d love them all to enter.

8. That’s all.

  1. Does it really have to be from only the last 2 months?

Surely an original work from the last 6 months could be considered? Maybe? Please?!

Great to hear SBS Food getting on board.

    cheers

    Jo

  2. Ed says:

Sorry, amended it to 2009 and 2010. I meant to put 2009 but brain melted.

  3. SJ says:

Very exciting news Ed. Yay SBS and all the other fabulous sponsors!

Great news – I hope i might be able to see this exhibition in situ but otherwise will enjoy the flicker photos. It is great that it is a virtual exhibition as well as being hung at St Ali – makes it more in line with the spirit of blogging

is there a closing date? can photos be from abroad even if submitted by local bloggers? I have some of scotland that I like but not sure if it fits the bill. I don’t have a flicker account so will think about if I put any photos in.

  6. Simon says:

Is there a close date for submissions? Would be good to know when to get submissions in by.

  7. Ed says:

Yes the closing date in this Sunday 7 March.

Any food or drink related pictures can be submitted.

You can get a free Flickr account but just to keep it simple we need to handle it all in one place.

  8. I’ve just got myself a free flickr account for this purpose, so can confirm it’s very simple. Look forward to discovering a few more blogs.

  9. Hi,

I know the fourth guideline say’s it should be an image from 2009/2010. I have noticed some images that are in the Flickr pool are not from 2009 or 2010. Are we or are we not allowed to enter images from other years? Will other peoples images in the pool which are not from 2009 or 2010 be accepted?

It’s just that i have some images from 2008 that I would like to enter as well but haven’t because of the guidelines. So if this guidline is flexible then I would like to enter some of my 2008 work as well.

    Thank you,

    dara

  10. Zoe says:

I have an image from 2008 in the group, but I blogged it in 2009. #justtocomplicatethings

  11. Ed says:

Zoe, I think that’s okay – as long as blogged unless anyone else has any thoughts.

  12. doh! i forgot to enter and missed the deadline 😦 good luck to all that entered their photos. they look great. will be a hard one to judge the winner!
